Jazz with Ravah & Ralph

Ravah Daley teaches the authentic Luigi Jazz Technique.  The exercise routine Luigi created for his own rehabilitation after a devastating accident became the world’s first complete technique for learning jazz dance.  Dance historians have defined the style as classic jazz, sophisticated, elegant and even liquid fire.  Luigi and his disciples, Ravah being one of them, teach stretching exercises in a routine to discover what has to be done to control the body.   We teach “always put your body in the right position” and “feel from the inside out”.  This technique is designed to prevent injuries.  We teach the importance of using the body properly; telling students to take their time and feel what they’re doing.  “If you keep doing things right long enough, they’ll get better right.”
Practically speaking, the warm-up takes approximately 30-40 minutes and the remainder of the class is dedicated to a jazz routine: sometimes the music is from eras gone by; Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy David Jr. Tony Bennett, etc.  Other combinations are choreographed to more contemporary artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Cold Play, Rene Olstead, etc.
