Students may register anytime until Beg-December 2025. Register early, classes are limited! Our yearly school runs from September 22nd to end of May/or Beg- June. There is an annual non-refundable/non-transferable registration fee of $50 per student ($60/Max. per family). DDA requires that all registration information and waivers including COVID-19 liability be completely and accurately filled out, signed, and electronically agreed to for each dancer. A reserved spot in class will only be confirmed once payment has been received. DDA reserves the right to switch to a full HYBRID (in-person & virtual classes) schedule or Virtual Only at any time for the same tuition.

+ Zoom-only classes are designated live-streamed classes that are taught online with no in-person component. Zoom login information will be sent out before classes begin.

+ 10-Week Session Program- When enrolling into the session we are holding your spot for the school year
until notified otherwise. There will be (3) 10 week sessions. You must notify us at info@ddadance.com or in writing 3 weeks prior to the end of the session if your dancer(s) will not be continuing, so we can open up your child’s spot in the class. We will assume they are continuing once enrolled and process cards on file automatically for each session unless you notify us in writing a few days before the new session begins. Once the card is processed tuition is non-refundable.

+ To receive a class confirmation, make sure to include your email address during the online registration process. If classes are full or we have to make a change in our schedule, we will contact you, and do our best to provide you with an alternative.

DDA staff and Director determine placement in classes, as we strive to provide each student with an optimal dance experience. Age is a guideline for class placement but not the determining factor. We not only assess of the student’s ability and development, but by their dedication, loyalty, performance in class and attitude.

Should the studio be closed due to inclement weather or emergencies, dance class cancellations and information will be emailed, posted on our website/Facebook/Instagram or you can call 201.819.7989 and check the studio message an hour before classes commence. The academy reserves the right to use substitute teachers when necessary.

We will be closed during Thanksgiving, Winter Recess, February Recess, Spring Recess, and Memorial Day Weekend. Please refer to our calendar document for specific dates.

Parents please check your email regularly, almost all information and photos will be communicated via email.

Please make sure emails from info@ddadance.com are not being blocked and going into your spam folder!** Thank you!

Newsletters, reminders, and any statements of account will be communicated by email. Information may also be posted on our bulletin in the lobby. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to be aware of important dates and all studio activities. Please inform us of any address, telephone, or email changes throughout the year.

To preserve the quality of instruction and minimize distractions for your child and others, we ask that a parent or guardian drop off their dancer at the beginning of class and pick them up at the classroom door five minutes before class ends.

Parents are not permitted inside the classroom during instruction. However, we have a closed-circuit camera system in place that allows you to view classes throughout the year. Please respect our viewing policy and wait until Parent Observation Week for designated in-person viewing opportunities.

While our camera system provides a way to watch classes, please note that your child may not always be visible for the entire duration, as they will be actively moving throughout the space.

Due to limited space and in an effort to minimize distractions, parents are invited to observe their child’s dance class during Parent Observation Week only. If space allows, grandparents are welcome too!

This is a special opportunity for parents to experience the classroom environment and see the progress their dancer has made. Don’t forget to bring your video camera to capture the moment!

Observation will take place during your child’s regularly scheduled class time. Stay tuned — the official date, additional details, and specific observation times will be announced later in the year.

Please note: Observation may take place in person or via Zoom (TBA). Observation classes may not be available for Company-level classes.

Proper attire is important to start a good attitude toward dance class discipline and allows the instructor to view and correct body placement. Please have your child(s) wear their required dance attire. Hair should be up and away from their face in order to participate.

Any student arriving 10 minutes after the class has begun will have to observe due to safety reasons. If a student must miss a class, please notify the Academy. Poor class attendance may result in dismissal from performances at the discretion of the instructor.

Dance classes may be changed within the first four (4) weeks of commencement free of charge. After the fourth week, a $25 class change fee will apply to any schedule or class changes.

Students are expected to complete the dance year. If a student wishes to withdraw from a class or switch to a different class, the parent or guardian must submit a written notice—either in person or via email—by the 27th of the previous month to avoid being charged tuition or late fees.

Please note: Once tuition is paid, it is non-refundable, regardless of class attendance or schedule changes.

Makeup Classes Due to Illness: If a class is missed due to illness, dancers are permitted to take a makeup class within 4 weeks of the missed class date.

Deadline for Makeups: Absolutely no makeup classes will be permitted after the final class date of the season. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Class Style & Availability: Please note that makeup classes may only be available in a different dance style than the one in which the student is currently enrolled.

Recital Choreography Notice: Beginning January 1st, all classes will shift focus to recital choreography. Regular curriculum will pause to accommodate this preparation.

Responsibility of Attendance: It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure that any eligible makeup classes are scheduled and attended within the allowed timeframe.

DDA offers 1 FREE Trial class per child.  A waiver form must be completed by the parent/guardian of the dancer(s) and emailed or handed in prior to participating in the class.

DDA is a place for fun and learning, and students are expected to treat staff and peers with respect at all times.

Disruptive behavior, repeated tardiness without permission, or general misconduct will not be tolerated. Parents will be notified, and the student may be asked to sit out or, in serious cases, be removed from the class.

No refunds or credits will be given if a student is dismissed due to behavior.

DDA is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items. Please label all belongings! Please check our lost and found box located in schools lobby. All unclaimed items will be discarded or donated to charity every 6 months.

Please remind children to use the toilet before dance class. If one child has to go, they all do!

Dancers must be dropped off and picked up on time. DDA does not provide child care before or after class.

If a dancer is repeatedly dropped off early or picked up late, DDA reserves the right to charge the account or credit card on file a fee of $20–$30 per hour, billed in full hourly blocks.

DDA will hold ordered items only until October of the year they were ordered. We are not responsible for items that are not picked up.

Unclaimed items may be donated if not signed out, and no refunds will be issued for these items.

Certain classes will include a student assistant teacher to help provide individual attention to each dancer. These assistants are also gaining valuable teaching experience under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
